Well, I've done the deed, My A8 has reduced me to the following.
I'm now the owner of a shiny Black Honda Accord estate disiesel....... I simply can't continue with constant niggles and narks. I need a car that I can get in and go and fingers crossed the Honda with its legendary reliablity will give me that. To all who've helped me over the last 12 months thanks for all the fish..... I'd say its been fun but it hasn't. Its been expensive, frustrating and plainly inconvienient. Regards Ian |

Really sad to see you go mate, but as you say,. sometimes they've just got to go.
Good luck with the Accord.

Ian,
Sorry you've had such a sh1tty experience with the '8'. I hope you'll stick around and carry on with the banter! The Accord's not a bad motor and as you said you can't fault the reliability. Good luck and all the best for the New Year. Steve |

just keep you're eye on the oil level of the accord, keep her topped up and it'll run forever. Only ever seen 1 dead ictdi, threw a rod when the oil ran out and it was left empty whilst it's caring owner continued his daily motorway commutes for a week or two. They're a nice car, smooth and quiet if a bit anonymous, perfect commute vehicle.

Cheers guys,
I'll keep an eye on that oil, some do seem to be thirsty for the stuff ![]() re gninnam:, I'm afraid I won't. first german car and TBH I don't and never felt some "wow german are so well made" over an above the Volvo and Saabs I had before it. As such it offers me nothing 'special' that a jap or swede can't. I've never like BMWs or Mercs for some weird reason. The 8 intruiged me with its AWD, 300bhp and luxury. I will probably pop in from time to time but not as regularly as I have been Ian |

Tis a sad day, but I can understand how when you just need it to work, and it doesnt, it can leave you with a sour taste....
I'd wish you well with the Honda, but i cant bring myself to do that, so I'll just hope that maybe you keep some fond memories of the Audi and in time maybe you'll stop telling people about the 'crappy' A8 you once owned... ![]() All the best

Really sorry to hear about your bad experience.
I have owned many Audis and the 8 is by far the best all round car I've ever owned, and she has hardly missed a beat. Don't give up on the brand, especially the 8 ![]() Good luck with the Honda, hope it's a good'un ![]()
