I believe this sort of 'attack' is called 'scare ware', especially as most tend to direct the intended victim to a download of a bogus anti-virus malware etc.

This scam usually costs the victim inasmuch as they are cajoled into re-downloading a bogus piece of software for $ x usd to remove the non existent threat.

I've seen these in the past, and many non cogniscent people have contacted me with this information, I usually advise them to download the free program malware bytes (I think its malwarebytes.org, but a google will find it), which usually cleans out the problem from their computer.

I hope this helps if anyone on the forum has fallen victim to this niuscance scam.

Still going on this i got my message today.....did make me chuckle.....anything that can get on my putor is welcome to be there......its earned its place....
