Time for a quick update,
The D3 has now passed 150K miles, and I've owned it for more than 2 years now. During December I had knocking sound from the near side front, turns out the droplink bolt on that side had come loose and its now fixed. Also fixed today was the self closing boot, which for the last 2 years has just popped up again after closing. Replaced a spring in less than 10 mins and normal service has resumed, can't believe it was that easy. The headlight washers which were repaired for a second time in July are still working which is a surprise given the previous repair only lasted a month or so. Apart from that car is running great and all being well will be heading the Costa Del Sol in June.

That is the reason I wanted an A8, to drive the long distances for holiday.
But what happens, management decides that we are going to Gran Canaria. Is there an A8 mod for water wings? Please not a Jeremy Clarkson type

The D3 is now booked into Poole Audi for a major service at the end of this month, having a car over three years old means fixed price servicing.
Wonder what I'll get as a courtesy car..

Tomorrow is the day, and I'll have a courtesy cars at some point.
At the moment I have my A8, and a courtesy car for the volvo which is currently being repaired. Tomorrow as well as the A8 service, the volvo should be ready, so two courtesy cars to juggle during Tuesday. Annoyingly both garages are in the same direction.

The D3 is now fully serviced. Bill from Poole Audi including brake fluid change was £250, so not bad for main dealer I think.
Had the use of a 65 reg A4 Diesel whilst the A8 was in, quiet like MMI 3G compared to 2G version. Car needs two new tyres, the rear pair are at or close to minimum (1.6 and 2mm). Fronts are at 3.5mm each. Health check picked up the front coolant pipe is corroded, and the upper arm bushes will need replacing soon but are ok at the moment, apart from that its a clean bill of health. Pads/disks etc. all fine with no problems to report.
