Drivers Door Hinge Change?

Hi There,

My PF D3 has a slump on the drivers door, it means that it is not quite sealing on the window trims and you get wind noise which is irksome. Also ruins the lines a bit.

Opening the door full and there is play when you wobble it. Speaking to a mechanic friend he thinks it is the upper pin which has slop in it. He was saying he thought to replace the hinge it's a bumper/headlight/wing off situation and not a quick or easy job.

Anyone with any experience of this ?

He also wondered about knocking the pin out and getting a bigger one turned up by a local machine shop as another potential fix?
