Wolfinsheepsclothes did that for his manual swap, although he used an 0A3 gearbox and Skoda mounting brackets, but the principle is the same. They just need a riser fabricating which is two oval flanges and a tube in the middle to lift them up to D2 height. The advantage of this being that they are weighted properly for the 01E, and the height can be adjusted so the drivetrain sits level. Putting an 01E on the stock 5HP mounts means it sticks up at the back about 1/2" due to the huge weight difference.

On the manual I built I took the phenolic spacers off the top of the OE mounts which helped a little, but on the next one I will use the B5/C5 hydro mounts designed for the 01E, sitting on risers, then I can set the height to wherever I want. The risers are trivial to build with a CNC plasma and mig welder

Its a decent write-up from Alex actually. You guys are lucky to have so many C4s kicking about to donate parts (ie more than the none at all we have here!). I had to use a highly modified B6 shifter which was a bit of a pain, especially as I lost the drawings for it. I can get new OE front shafts, which is a bonus, but I can't get propshafts which you guys can get from Advanced Automotion (impractically expensive to ship them over here). Still, I have a few genuine manual propshafts stashed away which is all I need
