Update: after many hours of trying to get hold of him etc and many promised callbacks not being made I got hold of the technician/owner bloke
"That sounds like your flex plate - thats not part of the gearbox so will be 550 quid to fix" Sod that I thought If I am going to pay for it I'd rather a garage that I trust so I called Chester lot. He's going to listen to the sound clip I posted and ring me back.
