Default Quattro in the snow

Yesterday I had my first taste of the quattro system in the snow, and I was impressed with how good the car drove.

I was in Stevenage Herts, where overnight about 4 inches of snow fell and my poor A8 almost disappeared. After digging around the front of the car and clearing the rest off, put the car in drive and it felt like driving on tarmac when pulling away. I managed to get out of the residential street on a hill where others had tried and failed, and I managed it without even a single flash from the ESP light.

I have quiet a lot of experience of these conditions, so took it easy once going as the 4WD gives an odd sensation of having grip when in reality you have no more once rolling than any other car on the road.

This was the view from the bedroom window.

and the A8 under snow.
