Default Replacing clicking Climate motor

I've covered this before, but thought I'd put a bit more detail in.

The clicking noice happens at several minute intervals only on facelift models, and the noise will come from the 'dashboard' although deeper investigation might lead you to realise its actually the passenger footwell.

The good news is, its an easy fix, parts are cheap enough from a8parts so lets see how:

Firstly, remove the passenger floor mats, then wind the seat all the way back, and tilt the seat base so the front is up at its maximum position.

Remove the 4 screws holding the wooden plate, and the plate itself. Then remove the single crosshead screw that should be present in the red ring that is holding the transmission tunnel covers in. They can be hard to find in the carpet sometimes, but are often missing also though.

Heres the fun bit. Piece of cake if you follow this.

Shuffle the whole cover forwards around and inch whilst moving down an inch or so too. The goal is the get the tab in the red circle out in the clear. Note the bottom corner with the red arrow - Pull this out towards you to give space to manouver this thing.

And now continue to pull the bottom out feeding it under the front of the seat where there is ample room. Once the top is clear of the glovebox / dash area it comes out quite easily.

This is the offending motor. Its quite small, and held in by two small crosshead screws, circled in green. With a small crosshead screwdriver, remove the screws, and then the motor just pulls off quite easily.

And here is the replacement one ready to go in. Refitting of everything is reversal of removal...
