Default Eliminate gear selector for paddles?

I want to eliminate my gear selector altogether and use steering wheel paddles and using tiptronic shifting only. Is this possible in the A8? Even if the gear selector is hidden under the column that would be fine, do I still need actuators to put the car in park, drive, reverse? How would that work?

This is not going on the airbag steering wheel just an after market one. I don't have to mess with the audi console, steering wheel, etc.
