Erm, not sure I'd agree tbh - if a dealer offers to buy a car for more money than a private punter will wave under his nose, because the dealer sniffs the potential for a mark up to his advantage when sold with dealer facilities, what's wrong with that?
If it hangs around the price will drop but it'll still probably turn a profit. This of course assumes the seller did indeed get £16.5k for it, rather than less than you offered...... Puzzled a bit as to why your upset? Just because you didn't get the car you wanted?
