+1 for winter tyres, also I do not have a set for S8 as I don't do enough mileage on it. But on daily driver A6 put winter tyres on about a month ago, instant improvement in cold,wet and greasy conditions. On the everyday route to and from work couple of roundabouts were summer tyres on these conditions would let grip quite easily I can go quite a bit faster without loosing grip.
