Splicing Video leads
I am in the process of fitting front, rear and cargo cameras to my horsebox. I have a system that comprises 3 cameras, a screen that will show multi views or single view when reversing, associated cables and connects up straight forward enough.
I also have DVR that will record on continuous loop up to 4 inputs and via a remote control will provide picture out via a video lead to a screen. My screen however will not take plain video in but has 3 x 4 pin plugs to attach the cameras to. The same plug is on the DVR (4 pin). I want to be able to see the rear view and load cameras while in motion and record all three streams to the DVR. There is a switching ability from the reversing light switch that will priorities the rear view camera on the screen while reversing. The DVR is SSD based and the cards can be removed and viewed on a PC My question is can I just splice in a second set of connectors, one for each camera so the cameras are sending the picture to the screen and the DVR at the same time. each plug has 4 wires +, -, video and sound I'm guessing! Any video gurus out there? TiA CtL
