Default D2 rear parcel shelf removal

I've been asked for this simple guide by several forum members so I thought I'd post it and it could maybe be added as a sticky in the D2 Interior Trim Sticky section? I used it when removing the parcel shelf to clean the rear window properly but it's obviously handy if wanting to carry out a rear blind retrofit or repair etc

It's a bit of a time consuming job to get the parcel shelf out but in no means difficult.

If you follow the steps you will have no problem with airbags however I wouldn't disconnect the wiring to the seat as this may trip the airbag light to come on.

1. Remove rear bench seat ( 2 phillips under the seat) -remember to leave the connectors still attached!

2. Remove back rest ( 2 more phillips screws at the base of the backrest - once these two are out then lift the seat upwards, its kind of on a hook) -remember to leave the connectors still attached!

3. crawl into the boot and remove both speakers in your shelf - i think there is 3 screws on each cover and then 2 on each speaker - once these are out push the speakers up and then you can disconnect these inside the car.

4. if you have a rear blind you will need to undo 3 10mm screws from under inside the boot.

Once all these are done you should be able to climb inside the car and pull the shelf away from the window - if you take care to undo the connector from the shelf on the drivers side for the brake light and blind if you have it.
