Hi All.
So I have had my A8 for a week or so now and am starting to iron out some issues. The biggest being the wipers. I have read a few posts about wipers not turning off but I am unsure if mine is the same fault. Firsty I do get an error message on vcds 00908 - Control Module for Wiper Motor 014 - Defective - Intermittent Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00101110 Fault Priority: 2 Fault Frequency: 26 Reset counter: 148 and also this could be linked 01520 - Rain and Light Recognition Sensor (G397) 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00100010 Fault Priority: 2 Fault Frequency: 3 Reset counter: 133 Now heres what happens. If i quickly flick down for a singe wipe then the wipers keep going and dont stop until I press and hold down for a second or two and then let go. then they stop. This has to be timed correctly or it doesnt work. Even moving up to stop does not stop them. If i push up one for auto then it sort of works on the rain sensor, Its ok for a minute but then the wipers go mad (fast). If you leave it long enough then it does seem to go back to auto again. Its not going mad due to heavy rain before you ask lol. If i push up twice for slow movement then its fine until i turn them off and yup it keeps going. So my main question is.... Does a control module actualy exists for the wipers and if so where is it located, Everything I have read seems to point to either the motor itsef or a relay under the drivers side knee panel. If i didnt have a control module error i would go digging for the relay but I want to find out if there is a module first, My only other thought is that someone may have messed with the programming. I am going to vsds in later and see what the wiper settings are, Does anyone happen to kmow what the factory setting is for sensing wipers. Thanks Matt |
