joking aside , I have used seat belts since 1963
one of the directors of my company had a bad crash and was lucky to survive ; his surgeon told him that , had he been wearing seat belts he would probably escaped with some cracked ribs
the company issued an instruction that all company car drivers must have seat belts fitted to their vehicle , and that not to use them was a dismissable offence , they were a PITA , no reel belts in those days , but on one occasion they saved me from a much worse pain when I went in a dyke , hit a patch of black ice under a tree on a bright clear sunny morning !
