Yep, it was worth a try!

(my order was cancelled too).

Somebody probably noticed all the orders and thought "WTF?" ... I bet they had more orders in the space of that an hour or two than they've had all year!

One possibility of course is that it was just a publicity stunt.

What a great way to get your site's links going viral.

I spoke with a lady who called me to confirm my cancellation - she said that apparently some new staff in the IT Dept made some errors on the pricing file and managed to discount lots of tyres by too much. She implied that it had caused mayhem there, and told me that all monies would be refunded within 2 hours - personally I think it takes a day before the funds are released back by the bank or card provider to show as credit on your account etc

Well it certainly created publicity didn't it

Wasn't just tyres of that size, I was tipped off about it by a Fiesta ST owner who ordered a set after loads of people on another forum ordered tyres in various other sizes.

I too got a call from them (Germany based company) and they said that all money will be refunded by the morning if it has already been taken.

According to Hot Deals where it should have been 30% off it had been discounted to around 70% off.

Most (if not all) online companies have it in their T&Cs these days to protect them against pricing errors, meaning they do not have to honour the sale price quoted if it is clearly an error or until goods are shipped.

Mytyres must think we are a bunch of muppets. I ordered 4 tyres last week and tried to pay by MasterCard I was taken to a Paypal website, so I never proceeded with the transaction, but I did spend about 2 hours trying to get through on the phone to no avail. I was however sent a confirmation email. Today the following came to my inbox. Odd that my confirmation email says £204.80...

Dear Mr 47p2

On 07.04.2016 15:18:23 you ordered the following item(s) from mytyres.co.uk:
4 Pirelli P Zero 255/40 R19 100Y XL mit Felgenschutzleiste (FSL), AO (So)
and stated that you would like to pay with PayPal.
We have, however, not yet received any payment from you.

In order to complete the PayPal transaction, please click on the following link:
https://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/paypal...erify=w(edited)

Would you rather pay with a wire transfer?
Then please transfer the full amount of 580.80 GBP into the following account:

Account Number: 207****
Bank Name: Commerzbank AG, London Branch
Sort Code (BLZ): 40-**-**

Please make sure you quote your order number RD 26300974 as a reference when
you transfer the funds so that we can attribute the payment to you and forward your order
directly to our warehouse for shipment as soon as possible.

Should we not receive your payment within the next 7 days, we will assume that you no
longer require the ordered items and we will automatically cancel your order. You will then
receive a cancellation confirmation email from us.

Kind regards,

Team Delticom
