xenons
hi guys. One of my headlights has gone purple in colour. Is that a sign its on its way out? where is the best place to buy new xenon bulbs for d3?

Yep, it will gradually turn pink and become dim. Depends what colour temp. you are after (I believe the OEM colour is 4300k). I've fitted 5000k Philips Xtreme Vision xenons in the past and they were fantastic, you don't want anything too blue and tacky. I'd say it's best to replace them in pairs so they match.

Put your Reg in HERE
Shows that you need D2S bulbs but maybe someone can confirm as I don't have a Reg to hand. Literally lots of places you can buy from, here is one if you want decent branded http://www.hids4u.co.uk/d2s-xenon-hid-bulbs/ or there are plenty of cheaper alternatives

If you don't mind spending a bit of money to get decent quality then the Philips X-treme Vision would get my vote
Many web sites offer discounts for buying a pair so worth comparing offers from Euro Car Parts and the bulb specialists to see which works out cheapest for you - just ensure you are buying genuine by sticking to the main retailers. I'd avoid ebay and Amazon market place sellers just due to the risk.

Personally I bought two off ebay for about £20, worked just fine. Figured if they failed it was a small gamble, they lasted longer than the car!
I have also bought a pair from Halfords for another car, was about £80 after trade discount - but they were totally different bulbs  I had to visit two branches to get a "matching" pair, but when I did they were all fine too
