Ah thanks Neil.
1 digit difference in the part number and Mugzee has a A8 ... mmm Need to do some research.

Those are for the steel hubs - the pin on the end is larger, so they won't fit an FL car with alloy hubs.

They're more expensive than new correct ones on ebay anyway

I bought a complete Meyle HD set from Germany for £350.

I know you only need two arms but maybe use the saving for the entire kit for the future?

I bought a set of those some time back and, despite assurances, 2 of the arms were the wrong ones and had to be returned for a refund.

The Meyle ones on Ebay specifically state that are not for 20" wheels so they are OK for me.

Thanks Ricky for the info and it would be a sensible precaution but I will rely on the fact that the Lemforder uppers I fitted a while back holdout for me!

MikkiJayne: You are right, Mugzee's are for steel hubs - the 1 digit difference I think confirms that and I have been in touch with Mugzee so it looks like the Meyle ones are the way ahead.

Ricky's link is also for steel hubs if the picture is correct (larger pins on the front arms).

There are two types of lower front arms on most Audis - large pin on B5 and C5 / D2 with steel hubs, small pin on B6 and C5 / D2 with alloy hubs. There is a 3rd type which is unique to the 20" D2. Almost all the D2 Meyle kits I found on ebay were the large pin versions, but in fact its exactly the same price to buy all the arms separately as it is to buy a kit so simple enough to just change what's needed

Thanks again. I had a talk yesterday with the people at Murrays Direct (the EBay seller of the set you recommended) and they were very helpful. They understood the differences between steel/alloy hubs/20" wheels which gives hope that I would end up with the right stuff.

I haven't had a chance to run these in to the garage to change yet - looks like I might have the wrong arms then

I was aware that the arms are different on factory equipped 8's with 20" wheels, but had no idea about steel/alloy hubs difference.

Will they still fit my car or will I need to change these parts?
