Yup. All done. Dean took Big Red away at 18:30 this evening. It was a fairly tough weekend as we were expecting to be done last night, but got to 20:00 and still had a big list of things to do, so Dean stopped in a nice hotel near the workshop and we carried on again this morning.

I lost my phone so didn't get any pictures, but I think Dean got a few so one of us will post them up later.

200 hours in the end

Try paying that at Audi dealer rates.

1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Going back a few years back now - based on what the local Audi dealer tried to charge me for retrieving the stereo code, I reckon about £31,000. Yikes!

I have just read the whole thread. Wow!

It is really comforting to know that such care, attention and expertise are available. I wouldn't mind a trip to Devon - I just drove 400 miles return to pick up a lawnmower, and I bought my D2 from Cardiff - another 400 mile round trip, which I did twice because I wasn't sure.

I look forward to seeing it wafting around East Northamptonshire. We almost have enough for a club in the region.

You should both try and get to the regular AudiSRS Buddies breakfast meets at Towcester. https://audisrs.com/buddies-meet-sun...17-t70371.html
Next one is 9am (latest!) Sunday 12th November and there will be a Nogaro Blue A8 there (plus my green S8). The red one as well would be stunning.
