Easy enough to fit. One backing plate for each side (3D0615311C & 312C), one air guide/duct for each side (3D0615447D & 448D), and 6 bolts each side to secure it (4x N10065002 & 8x 90842903)

Total for the parts from VW main dealer is £157.xx (no cheaper through TPS).

Not a bad price for new parts and an hours DIY time to fit

I'm confused. I don't get why one would not be a protective as the others, unless it is, as Del has suggested, fitted backwards.

Do all of your backing plates cover the disc edges?

Mine do and I think the ceramics should be protected

Old thread but I may be able to answer this. I was going to replace one of the shields this year and was pleased when TPS told me the price had come down considerably (£200). However they lipped the other way and did not cover the edge at all! I think these are an R8 part and looked nice/shiny and fitted perfectly but defeated the object so I returned it and had mine fixed.

Hello Homer, my standard A8 ones lip the other way, I always thought a strange design. Your photos are not loading - it says google access denied, I presume you can see them as you are signed into your account.
