Okay, so I have found some wheels in the right price range and look, have also read all the posts etc on this so now understand rolling diameters, et, and so on......but just want to check my maths;
I currently have the OEM Avus 18" rims with a 245/45 tyre. Now I belive the et is 45 and they are 8J (couldn't pin down anywhere if they were in fact 8.5J???).
Anyway the wheels I have found are 19" (just couldn't find any 20's!!) but are 9.5J (mmm nice and wide

) with an et of 35.
So.....if the current wheels are et45 this means the new ones at et35 will sit 10mm further out, now here is the tricky part as they are at least 1" (or possible 1.5") wider does that have to be added onto my calculations to work out how far out they will sit????

.
if so, I get 10mm + 25mm =
35mm (@1" wider rim) or;
10mm + 38mm =
48mm (@1.5" wider rim)
I think I have about 50mm at the rear to play with before they come out too far from under the arches (and nearer 80mm at the front). Looking through the threads I have seen that at least someone is running 10" rims at the rear so it can be done, although the et may be 45 or more which is why they fit. Unfortuntaley, if I order them there is no going back as I can't return the wheels back to the UK....the deal is that if I buy and they don't fit its tough, hence the need for some reassurance!
