oh man.. that sucks.
never heard on a 2.8 going, but they are less common. have you checked with a8parts, may be easiest to go with a replacement engine.

Concur with the replacement engine plan. Could be an opportunity to drrop in something like a 2.7 Bi Turbo from an s4/6. A8parts had one in the other day.
For engine parts, as an alternative try Gosnays of Romford. They have one of my engines atm and have a huge stock of componants and should be ceaper than Audi or TPS.
