A narrower cover may be in order, and that may allow the accelerator pedal to move 1-2cm to the right, and the brake pedal as well. Maybe it is just possible to retain a narrow footrest?

The foot rest is an integral part of the shell, and can't be removed, or bashed flat with a mallet. At least I'm not going that route. Still looking at a two-pedal option.
