ok i have a question many people well a few have turned there A into an S but my question is will i be frowned at by other S8 owners if i complete my transformation with the final badge to the rear, ok engine and gear box are still A8 however its now 348bhp and the pre faclift s8 was 340 bhp and that was called an s8, so now i have S8 ride S8 mirrors S8 grills seating ect ect .. with the quad free flow system panel filter de cat and a remap and rolling road of 348 can i call it an S8 now or is there something missing that would render me not doing that ?
opinions are all welcome and constructive criticism ![]() |

Mate, do what you like. It's your car. Don't worry what other people think!
My first D3 was badged new at dealer as an S8. I liked it even though there was no such thing. |

yea i guess so i mean yes it is my car after all, but there is an element of respect for other S8 owners and how they would feel knowing it was badged up as an S8 although in my opinion i have been very busy in the last few months getting things done and it was 310bhp now 348 and it dose drive much better now, when the weather gets better i will take some pictures of the car now its looking at its best

It is your car, and you can do what you like with.
An A8 though, will never be an S8.... Yours is something special as you've made it what you want, so why try and make out like its something standard? The gear ratios on the S8 give it more kick than the extra power, so having 348bhp wont make it as sporty, and then it'll need the S8 steering wheel, door strips, suspension and sports seats if you havnt done them already.... If you want an S8, buy an S8. If you want a modified A8, mod it, and enjoy it for what it is ![]()

i guess that answers a lot really, what i have is something different, i could not find an s8 anywhere that had everything that my A had, and as for the extra bits the only things i have not done are because i like the way they are for example i prefer the a8 clocks and steering wheel, everything else is S8, i prefer the a8 gear box, and finding a S8 engine is like hens teeth, in fact i think i have got the car exactly how i want it only thing i would change now is i would like the half leather alcantara seats purely for comfort but again ( hens teeth ) but when i find them one day i will buy them and ad something else

Bud, it's your ride. I'm no badge snob, and couldn't care less what anyone does to their rides. Personalise / badge your ride to your hearts content, you don't have to please anyone but yourself.
Ride on bud!

I'm more intrested to hear how you achieved 348 BHP. Have you got a dyno plot? The S8 badge will give you an extra 2 BHP so call it 350.
![]() To answer the question in the thread title, no I don't think you can. My A8 had everything S8, including the seats/engine/cats/ecu/tcu/steering/speedo and I still told people it was an A8 when asked. It had a discreet S8 badge on the front grill that I couldn't be bothered to take off but I kept the rear debaged. I did consider the badging the rear though as it was no different in any way to my real S8 in terms of power etc it was identical. Edit: I had the same dilema as you can see in this thread http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthrea...t=badge&page=2 Notice how I tell MoRS6+ what my goal was, well it is his old RS6+ sat on my drive as of today.

Agree with the replies above.... Your Car Mate....
Unique is Rare.... you have a Unique Car neither an A8 nor an S8... Badges aren't going to change that..... After I have finished my Project on the Cab..... I'll start on the S.... Keen to fit a V10 mill.... Then it would be Unique.... D2 V10... ![]() Would I put V10 badges on the front fenders.... Hell Yea...
