Spark plugs and oil/air filter on a D2 is very very easy. Get the parts from TPS and do it yourself? If in doubt, look for a guide on Audipages.

OK - moving me closer to doing it myself.
Last service was done by an independent (IVC in Leeds) who I found to be well priced and gave very good service, but the hourly charge is always too much!!! What about someone local that can reset the service indicator once done??

Think IVC charge around £60 - will have to dig out an old receipt.
I think I have the tools to do the service myself (not sure about the fuel filter yet but will have a look at Audi Pages) as just carried out the service on the Focus. Just looked at GSF's site and it comes out at around £160 for the parts which isn't to bad (the focus cost £50 in parts....) Will have a look at TPS for the parts also. Cheers

Would absolutely recomend doing it your self to save the money. Its all a straight forward job
 Dealers her charge £140 an hour so doing at home is a must

As said it's all very easy on the D2, even the fuel filter. When I changed mine I didn't even jack the car up and it took about 10 mins
If you keep all the receipts and mark up the service book with the mileage, date etc, I think that would satisfy most prospective buyers of a car of that age and mileage that the car had been serviced regularly, and if as said you use TPS parts, they will be OEM parts which you may not get from sending it to an independent.
