Thanks, Paul

The fuel pump relay is good, the benefit of having another identical A8 to swap bits and test has been particularly useful!

Could someone please get me elsawin instructions on how to change a fuel pump on a 1995 A8 4.2?

You need to sort out cranking issue first then. Double check the earth lead, connections at the battery and put battery on charge overnight.

Thanks for the PDF's Ainair, is it important to drain the tank? It has 3/4 tank of fuel in it, that's going to be a pain...

Just put it in the V10, that'll gobble it up PDQ.

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions and extended leather. Ski hatch retrofit. Aftermarket reversing camera. DVB-T and XCarlink now removed as redundant.
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (Even rarer than a D2 S8!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

No. I have done it twice and one time it was about 90% full and other about half full.

Ainair came out and fixed it for me yesterday, car now drives like a dream after the new fuel pump, thanks, Ainair - top work.

I will let Ainair answer that one, I wasn't at home when he worked on the car, and as I've been busy I've had no real chance to speak to him.

Loving the instant non drive by wire throttle response, and the lovely naturally aspirated V8 power delivery, it's so smooth, and no matter how much you floor the throttle, it won't feel violent like an S8 might, I've always loved the PF D2 A8 4.2 power delivery/setup.

The owner still hasn't found the V5, and the V11 reminder he gave me is two years old... So can't tax it until that's sorted, so AITP is probably likely to be in the RS6, if I come at all as I am mega busy.

You might as well apply for a reg document yourself - it'll take a few weeks and you won't be able to tax it till after the reg document arrives anyway.

V5s tend to be lost for good unless they suddenly remember where they left it
