I couldn't even get "normal" 17's (as used on my PF D2) to fit on my FL D2, though the manual says that's the winter wheel size. I presume they must be some special profile or steel.
They sort of fitted when I tried but internal balance weights just caught on the front calipers; I guess spacers might have sorted that out, but I went for 18's instead.

The winter wheel size "should" be on the label inside the fuel flap.

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (Even rarer than a D2 S8!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

I think I'm probably pretty stuffed wheel size wise now with W12 discs and calipers at 385mm. I'm going to try my Quattro sport wheel which had good clearance before at 18 inches and see if it fits now but suspect I might have the same issue!

I've got some 20" final editions for winter use so that will be the fallback position from the 21's if the QS Wheels don't fit, I'm just interested to see what will fit.
The plan is in place for the exhaust system mod version 2, just a tad busy to spend any time on it right now so it may be a winter mod to be revealed next spring. its basically a reworked system with actuator flaps linked to a remote control on/off loudness button which can be on the dash or on your key ring even

I like the sound of that, no pun intended. care to share your thoughts or research, seen somewhere today that the d3 flaps open under vacuum at high rpm, pity it couldn't be coded to stay open, but your idea would be better.

The W12 has Flaps in the exhaust system from the factory but there there as a relief system for excess back pressure when you give the 6.0L a led foot rather than a sound enhancer.

wheel wise the discs are 390mm and the same spec as the non ceramic S8 brakes and i know there are many 18" wheels that do fit over the brakes

http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=5567

and the QS Wheels share the same Off set so i dont see any reason why they would not fit

just have a nice chunky profile on them like a 50 or 55 and winter tyres and there will be no where you cant go

Still not found wheels for the car as I am currently bobbing around the North Sea, was going to go to a few Audi breakers when I'm back to try wheels on if they will let me.

As for the exhaust I went a bit ghetto on it and stripped a length of twin and earth and tied it around the lever arm that is on the shaft of the flaps so they are permanently open now

Surprisingly its not much louder but just enough to have presence, in the cabin I can barely hear it.

Well went to try some audi wheels today, the biggest the breaker had was 18" and they dont fit over the caliper or disc shroud.

Kinda thought that would be the case as etka mentions 19' spare wheel for cars with the ceramic discs.

Guess it will need to be a set of 19's then.....

Tut, you mean I have to go open my flap and read, that's what laptop and forums are for.

I'm going by audi dealer the morn so I will ask what in their opinion is suitable.
