I know - I was being very pedantic. It should have been 'herrings' and not 'herring's'.

It's a slow day at work!

S**t! The brake caliper refurbishers have now told me I won't get them back untio next Wednesday! They now tell me that one of the threads for the bolts that joins the two halves of the caliper has stripped and it has to go back the the engineering shop.

They've already had the calipers for 2 weeks.

And yesterday they told me they were waiting for the paint to dry. Today they haven't been painted yet!

Do not use these totally useless idiots!

Sorry to hear your bad news Laird, that sounds like a shocking standard of service to me. I'd rather be told the truth upfront than "strung along" with endless excuses as it achieves nothing other than to add to the customer's frustration. I strongly suspect any future business they may have accquired from members of this forum has rapidly disappeared elsewhere.

I for one will certainly make sure aygo elsewhere.

Oh, I dunno. It made me smile for the first time since I last spoke to The Brake Caliper Specialists of Long Eaton, Nottingham, also known as Not Just Wheels Limited - just in case you're ever tempted to use these incompetent fools!

Dave

Thanks so much for the offer. The Aygo has gone back and I'm working from home today. Plan is that the calipers are delivered to me tomorrow (A4 Audi don't work Saturday) and I take them them in to A4 Audi first thing Monday. Hopefully get the car back (after a month!) later that day.

Fingers crossed!
