Whats the difference between the S8 and A8 4.2?

I had a FL 4.2 QS and a mate had a FL S8 (both D2). I think from what I recall of what I looked at when I bought, the differences are as IT says - engine power, gearing, and some options. Pretty sure the suspension set up (and sports seats) were common to both.

There is an obvious difference in driving though. Both have the traditional Audi featherlight throttle response off the line, but the S8 feels that bit more urgent once moving.
