Some info please
Hi people.
I'm going to be doing the front brake pads on my 1998 a8 2.8 non Quattro. Now the pads are not what I'm used to as there are 4 pet caliper. From what I can see they are held in place by a bolt on each pad! Is it realy that simple or am I misding somthing? Iv done many brake overhauls so know the basics but not seen any like this before lol I have this type |

I can't see your picture, but yes they really are that easy. Is the bolt you're talking about a Torx type?
Once you start stripping the old ones out all will become clear. Have a look over on Audipages for a guide if you get stuck

You will need to obviously push the piston back in order to fit new pads.. That will be the only thing that could be more tricky depending on your spannering ability, but im sure you will manage just fine.

Thanks for the info chaps
All done, was a really simple pad change over, all apart from the pad anti-vibration spring clips which are fixed to the top of the front pads. They took me as long to fit these as it did to change the pads and do everything else which was involved lol I think they needed changing lol No pad warning light was present tho! James |
