eBay, been watching them for ages, they got reduced by loads and I snapped them up, I don't want to fit them because there brand new just need to find a passenger seat so I can have a better top half of seat too, it's not bad yet but could be better.

I think its for remote starting the cabin heater so you can have a nice and toasty car ready to go in the mornings

That's correct dell, it uses a wireless remote that turns the webasto heater on, it can also be timed to come on at certain times, either by remote or with MMI, my e39 had it and it was a nicely needed function esp on the depths of winter and it also helps reduce cold engine wear, just need to get mine working properly first this car will not beat me haha!

The Range Rover has the same option but only for Diesels. Is it available for petrol A8s too?

I'd love to see if anyone has any luck retrofitting it, sounds like a great idea in our weather!

I've briefly looked at it, but looks like a lot of work on any car but can't even find the parts needed to do it on an S8, the most of them you see on ebay came from a diesel or a w12

In essence the w12 heater should be the same heater as used in the s8 as long as it's a petrol version and not a diesel one.
