looks like the same technology as the "3" Mi Fi which is the Huawei E586 mentioned in the review and that works very well. That also has the added advantage that it doesnt need a USB port to power it as it has a battery, so you just toss it in the armrest and connect your devices as you would on your home network. Really impressed by it

Yup... Very similar.. but smaller, though has no battery, so can be. What I liked about it was that it could be dropped onto an igition switched power supply (via USB adapter) and then only runs when car is on, without faffing around with either switches, or the risk of it being on and usable when you're not around.
Price is about the same.. though you could also use this as a media server, so movies for passengers ![]()
