Default High Spec D3 4.2 A8 LPG for Sale...

Yes, my Motorway mile muncher is up for grabs. I've recently picked up an S4 and Q7 as they were cheap, and that means something, somewhere has to go.

This car is the highest spec, by far the cheapest to run and yet it boils down to the simple fact that this was first in, so first out....

The important stuff:

* 1st Reg 15/12/2003
* Thus Band K for Tax Disc
* 3 Former keepers, 2 of which are/were forum members
* Discrete Prins LPG conversion. Certificated & registered online
* Below average miles @ 99869
* MOT to Sept 23rd 2013
* TAX till end Jan 2013
* Cheaper to fuel than a 3.0 Tdi.

The service history is comprehensive, with several wallets of information, including all previous MOT's and a cambelt change at 46K miles in 2009 at Heritage Audi, complete with original Audi receipt.

Since I've had it, its had front pads, a 20K service and gearbox fluid change, replaced the nearside rear wheel bearing and a new coolant header tank.

I've also fitted a set of genuine 20" Audi S8 'RS4 style' wheels, powdercoated black. I know these aren't to everyones taste, and I wouldnt have ordinarily picked them, but as black wheels seem to be 'in' it does give the car a more modern feel. Anyway, you could paint them back to silver, or you can have the 20" 9 spokes that originally came with it instead, but those wheels will need some rubber.

Full spec is in my signiture, but key items :

* Radar Cruise (ACC) - Perfectly working and much sought after
* Solar sunroof - Fantastic for summer, whether driving or parked up !
* Twin pane UV & Heat reflective glass - Stops heat build up
* Heated Windscreen - Clears an iced up screen in < 1 min
* Late revision Audi bluetooth phone module, supporting iphones etc
* DVB-T Digital TV tuner
* Audi AMI Music interface with Apple ipod/iphone connector (USB also possible)
* Sport spec - Suspension, steering wheel, seats
* Xenons, and adaptive cornering ones at that
* Advanced key - Keyless entry and start - A must in this class of car
* It also has an ipod/iphone connector under the armrest which goes into the A/V inputs of the tuner so you can play videos on the MMi screen if you wish.
* Nice clean interior, non smoker/pets as far as I can tell

The LPG System:

Spare wheel well tank, completely hidden leaving the normal size boot available. The filler is hidden in the regular filler flap, so no signs of a conversion from the outside. The tank does around 200 miles to a fill, with a fill costing < £40. Prins is considered one of the very best, and running on gas is seamless, with automatic switchover to petrol if gas runs out.

Points to note:

* Small amount of corrosion on the black triangles on the upper rear door. they're a common problem on the D2 and D3 and could be sorted by a bodyshop quite easily.

* Front Suspension arms are perfectly fine, but in cold weather they might make a few squeaks or groans until the heat of the engine warms them through a bit. This is again quite common of the D2 / D3. There is no play, and nothing recorded in the recent MOT

* There is a little bit of wear to the drivers seat, but its nothing obvious and is quite consistent with age and mileage

* The car has tyre pressure monitor, and the S8 wheels I fitted have TPM senders. As there is no spare wheel (or in deed room in the wheel well for one) the system is currently turned off as it just errors. If you're desperately bothered, it might be possible to code out the spare and have it running on the 4 main ones (if they're the right senders), but personally it holds no interest to me.

* The rear end if completely debadged. Not my cup of tea, but also not bothered me enough to start sticking new badges back on. I guess it works with the black wheels look quite well...

Given the condition, mileage and spec, looking for £7000, or £6600 without AMI and Digital TV.

A really nice D3 that might suit a D2'er looking to upgrade.

Straight cash preferred, but P/X considered at trade values etc etc.
