On the scrappy one...I'll drop him an email with my arty picture and ask.
How does this pipe fit in ? There appears to be a thread in the hole from what I can see on the picture is there a threaded union on the end of the pipe ?
I am still confused by the part number which whilst looking genuine doesn't show up anywhere.

Also I still have this other spares place coming back to me who quoted £500 and they confirmed they are not sourced from the Ebay chap.
Blimey I'll be glad to finally order this and get my car sorted.
Everyone's input is much appreciated
Cheers
Glyn

Singh, can you let me know if you aware if TPS will take the order from non-trade as their website says trade only .
I don't doubt that the american place doesn't source parts from the german guy, because the german guy doesn't actuallly make them, he buys from wabco-the manufacturers of genuine audi compressors, but for some reason, none of them would fit-I cant explain why this is, it's almost lile it's done on purpose? Very strange.

No problem using TPS, you should be getting a genuine wabco pump, with everything included that you need-just like you would if I got you one direct from Audi.

The pipe is connected using a push release washer thing-please forgive me for not knowing the correct terminology, but it doesn't simply unscrew, in fact there is now screwing involved (ooh err) lol but if you dont know this-you could be fooled into thinking so and accidently break it trying to wrestle it out. It has the same connections both ends.

Cheers Bex
This is the other place I have tried (it's uk not American)
http://www.p38spares.co.uk/commerce/...sor_Pump_.html
They only list the Allroad unit but I contacted them and they can source one for the A8
They are stated as OEM again I have been quoted 500 and am awaiting contact if they can supply one as they didn't have the A8 version in stock.
At least they are in the UK I guess. They specialise in LR mainly.

I'll give TPS a call today also (cheers Amar)

Many thanks
Glyn

I just rang TPS (Derby as its only a short hop away) They quoted 903 plus Vat which is the main dealer price £1084. Are you getting a discount off them ?
Cheers

Nope, they said £903 without VAT and £983 Inc vat. But after doing the sums seems 20% on £903 is about £1083. I think the TPS guy might have quoted me wrong then.

Just an update for those following this....
Just had the people from the second hand one back they say they have the pipes and "filters" and will supply them with it!
Just worries me with this different part number, I am going to put a call into the "friendly Audi man as I think he felt sorry for me last week when he told me the price of the pump! When I asked him for the part number he said quietly "Ebay "???
I reckon I can get the second hand one for less than 300 so is it worth a punt?? They have said they will have it back should it not work etc.

At this rate it's not going to be sorted this weekend

Another update for anyone interested sorry for all these posts but if it happens to you it might be worth the info

I have spent most of this afternoon trying to source the part for less. I have lodged requests with a number of breakers to see if there is the right part lying around somewhere. So far nowt!

I even contacted a chap on EBay who had also bought his from the German chap and left bad feedback his pumps was for an A8. He said the part wasn't OEM as described and he had returned it he suggested A8parts or a breakers
Tried all of them now!

However I found a site based in Ireland that links dealers part stocks and liss them with contacts.
I found an Audi dealer within the UK with the part who has offered to ship it to me for 960. Main agent so comes with the 2 year warranty etc etc

Best offer so far !
Watch this space as my credit card may take a hammering shortly!
Cheers
Glyn

ps Bex are you still on for the fitting guide ??
