Been down that a few times, thought I recognised the road heading off up the hill.. we usually turn down millhall road, though it does get a bit rough in places.

Oooh, a proper bike.
Dropped handlebars and mudguards.

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

The mudguards will be coming off when the weather improves, the single speed wheel will then be flipped and I'll be running it on a fixed gear, then it'll be a proper bike

Single-speed or do you use a Sturmey-Archer 3-speed?

HPsauce,
I'm on single speed at the moment, 48t-18t giving me a gear inch of 70.2" and so far I have not had to revert to dismounting and pushing the bike up any hills. So far since purchasing the single speed at the beginning of November I've done over 1000 miles and 54,500 feet of climbing

Richard
The problem I have using the fixed gear on the road right now is that I'm using SPD pedals to allow me to wear winter boots. The pedals are fine for clipping in when you have the single speed on but a right pain in the aris to clip in on the fixed gear, especially around town. Once the better weather arrives I'll put the SPD-SL pedals back on (easier to clip into) and flip the wheel to fixed mode 48T-17T giving me a gear inch of 74.3", so a little harder to turn the pedals and obviously unable to freewheel but it does make for stronger riding come the summer.

The track bike is fixed gear only with no brakes, it's running on 49T 15T giving me a gear inch of 85.9" and an hour on the track pushing that really does give me a good workout. Might have to change the 15T for a 16T to drop the gearing down to 80.6" until I get the hang of it
