Default Recovery

I have become (more) aware of some of things that can cause a D2 to 'brick'. I am further aware that most of the members here can do all first line and much major maintenance themselves. I am not one of these.

I can probably arrange recovery if I know who to call.

Any recommendations?

Autoaid comes highly recommended and at good price. That's what I have but never had to use so have no personal experience at how good they are. Several possibilities for cover. I have Personal cover that covers me and includes free cover for partner in any car.

They tend to use local providers who often subcontract to the other big three in any case.

I’ve used AutoAid for many years (possibly decades) and I have had a few occasions to use them. They’ve been fine. One good thing is that they insure the driver, so you can be driving someone else’s car and it’s insured.

I will add that I ensure on every car I have the following just in case:

Spare wheel
Jump Leads
Tow Rope
Jump Pack
Slime Tyre Repair Kit
Zip Ties

I have RAC breakdown and only used them once, again as others I insure myself and not the car.

The above list has helped me and others over the years to get cars going or home at least.
