Bose Lost Its BASS ?

for some reason my D2 just dose not have the punch i would expect from a Bose system and my previous D2 sounded lovely this has all the Treble but lacks bass

now ive been told there is a Bass tube in one of the doors somewhere and that provides most of the kick ect im just wandering if any one can help with this or has there been any similar problems with the Bose ?

would love to get this resolved as its one of the very few let downs with the car others are easy to resolve but i just cant track this one down
