That's terrible - did you persue this through Audi Assurance as you mentioned at the start? I thought if it was the third party who was liable, they couldn't write it off so easily. I know you have a duty to mitigate your losses but it's not like your car is damaged all over, it's just a minor shunt that happens to be on a rare classic performance car as as such, I think it is reasonable that you expect it to be repaired.
