I would love to see an electric D2.
Tesla's overall reduction ratio is 9.73:1 I wonder if a D2 diff can be modified to a similar ratio, then a Tesla moror can be mated directly to the diff. Or perhaps a differently wound motor that is happy with something like a 4.375 ratio of a diesel D2 diff? If Nissan leaf motors are cheaper/lighter perhaps two of those would do? AC Propulsion, the company that stared Tesla, are still making and selling motor units which I assume must be of similar quality to Teslas? Here the 150KW unit weighs only 55kg, a couple of those should do nicely if the price is right. https://www.acpropulsion.com/index.p...e/drive-system Last edited by Goran; 27th May 2019 at 09:47 AM. |

Looks like some used bits can be obtained for a not too bad price
