he really likes the performance of the new setup. reducing speed from over 200km/h is no big problem, even several times in a row. with his stock setup(345mm) and also with the 8-piston rs6(365mm) he had alot of problems,so the d3-s8-setup is the final solution for him and it fit's under 18inch

So...this little project has taken the best part of 10 months to get to this point but it's looking really good.

Ben @ Revo was instrumental in making this work for me as was Big Dave @ A8 Parts.

There are a few things that might be worth noting for anyone wishing to do the same...

1. You need the correct hub-mounts to mount the D3 S8/W12 calipers and discs
2. Going from the early FL 'steel' hub carriers to the later FL (but not S8) versions meant that the ABS sensors (which also manage traction control) need to be changed. The early FL ABS sensors have 2-pin connectors (just for ABS) to plug into the car's wiring whereas the later are 4 pin (as they include pad sensors also). Therfore you have to take the old 2-pin connectors and put these on the newer ABS cables (something i still need to do).
3. The new hub carriers sit slighly more inwards. If you have the 9J D3 20" wheels, this means they'll rub against the top suspension arms. You will need to get 15mm spacers for the front to clear this.

Overall, I'm over the moon with them..Ben did a brilliant job and went above and beyond with this project. I am also really impressed with Revo - you now get Ben's expertise but with 4x the manpower which makes the new setup very compelling!

And best of all, they look monstrous...385mm, drilled and grooved does fit the wheels well i feel.

Some pictures below

Oli

Looks the Dog's Danglies. Those Teves callipers are so low profile that you could go even bigger with the disks! Why? Because you could.

Really interested in the stopping power. I miss my AP brakes on the S8 (transferred to projekt AnA), I'm now looking for some RS4/6 or some such to get me back that comfortable feeling.
