MOT Brake Test
My usual chap is off touring the world, so new place used today
Old bloke always road tested the S8 and my Subaru, as he reckoned the rollers aren't a good idea on 4wd. Not so today. Any thoughts on whether brake rollers are ok on the S8? |

Fine on the D2. The torsen centre diff will happily deal with the front or rear axle spinning independently for a short period of time. I have mine tested on the rollers with no adverse effects or unpleasant noises.
Not so much with Haldex things, as if the clutch in the rear diff is engaged and you spin the rear wheels with the front stationary, bad things happen. Stuff with permanent 4wd and no centre diff like a Landrover would just drive itself off the rollers. |

Most roller brake testers now prevent axle wind up on 4x4s by spinning the wheels in opposite directions across the axle
