^^^ First port of call when a Range Rover throws an electrical wobbly is disconnect the battery for 15-20 minutes. Disconnect both leads and then join both leads together with a piece of wire and a couple of crocodile clips to allow any components that still have a small electrical charge in them to fully shut down. It works wonders and cures all sort of problems.

Recently had a similar problem with mine and component protection reported on a scan, disconnected battery for similar time and no problems since.
Strange as it would occasionally work for <10 secs on start then shut down for approx an hour.
