Just like to say thanks to the organisers for doing such a good job

Sorry for being late and having to shoot off early, but was nice to meet the peeps I had chance to talk to and the cars to look at.

Look forward to the next one (this time will tell the wife to **** off - OK, perhaps not) and will be there at the start.

Again, cheers

What can I say guys? What a superb day.

Despite being run off my feet, and seeming to run from pillar-to-post all day, I feel that the day was a great success. Despite the weather (I'm now convinced that God is in fact a woman, who despises cars ), the turnout was fantastic.

What was shown yesterday, by all who turned up, was a great commitment to the A8OC. Willing to turn up despite what your guts may have told you (James must have been up until silly o'clock this morning cleaning his '8 after it's day out ), and fighting against adverse weather conditions to get there. I'm sure it came across many minds to turn around and go home.

I personally want to thank you all for making the day worthwhile. You may have seen me breathe a sigh of relief at the end of the day, which really was the pinnacle of a lot of hard work carried out by a few individuals. And I'd like to thank each of them personally:

Botang - Top BBQ Chef (I did notice Boyd giving some assistance )
Tobes - Meet Photographer
Mike - Events Secretary - a great start to the A8OC social calendar
Steve - top location selector

I cannot wait for the next event, and now need to put together an article for Audi Driver magazine

I will do a full write up soon, but for now here's a few of my favourite shots of the day

Default Message from Ireland :)

Hey guys,

Thanks for a great day yesterday. I’ve never met such a welcoming, knowledgably and passionate bunch of guys before.

Many thanks to all for the advice/ counseling on the gearbox issues I was offloading. Ben @ AVP is hard at work on the car at the moment. I’ve traveled back to Ireland (work commitments) but the brother is able to bring the car home tomorrow when all is back together again.

Ian and Dave @ A8 Parts have come up trumps again with a few bits and bobs (Tony as you said yesterday membership has its advantages… ).

The pictures are great BTW.

The only real problem with meets like this is that a person can get very jealous of other folks cars, not to mention some of the kit you have in them.

Anyway it was great to meet you all and hopefully we’ll be around for next year.

Take care,

Builder22 (aka Niall)

Default Meaty meet

Thanks guys for a great meet. Clearly a lot has gone into the organisation and execution and it made for a really great day (or two for some of you).
It was good to meet everyone and since getting back I've been thinking of questions I should have asked and cars I should have peered (or is that perved Singh) at more closely. Still that's a good reason to attend the next meet. I look forward to it and promise next time to pay attention and not stand around chatting and wondering what the hell that pane is doing flying around and around... OK now I know, the photo. Apologies all around.
If you want I can do the photoshopping for you (my work speciality). I can dissapear four nutters and materialise two 8's so no one will be any the wiser,
The pictures are great, the cars fantastic, everyone so freindy and Daves must be the only Deisel anyone has put into an S8 without first opening the filler cap. Woof woof!
Cheers everyone

Yes, that's my intention too, after my engine had a little crash, but still don't know exactly what was happening.. I'll see the car on Friday, so there's two days left to make thoughts about it

So now, at first I want to thank all of you for your warm welcome!!
Especially Oli, who gave me a lift up and down from London to the meet and gave me much information for my trip! THANKS!!!!!

Your meeting was a great experience, I got to know new people and so friendly individiuals, I'm completely stunned!

Your 8s are very nice and I think you would very much like it to come down to the international meeting in August (16th to 18th) located at the lovely Edersee near Kassel, almost in the middle of Germany.
map

There you can hear some real sports-exhausts (BN-Pipes), that might smash you down.
The experience to go on the streets with a sports-character will also fascinate you, furthermore you can go to Vmax on the Autobahn

You all are invited to come down!!!!!!!!!

If you need any information about the hotel (I think 80% of this hotel is for us at this weekend), about anything you need to know, just give me a shout..!
We have a deeply committed female event-manager, managing everything for a successfull meeting.

Just let me know, if you are able to come to the meet and I'll give you some information. But you have to know, that space at the hotel is limited, so a quick decision makes it easier

Hope to hear you anyway!!!

Greeetz from London,

Chris.

No worries at all mate - it was a pleasure having you on the day and getting to know more about A8-Freunde and 8s in Germany in general!
