I managed to obtain 90sqm of Caithness stone that had been over ordered from another job from a mate of mine at a reasonable cost so this was used for the patio area
Caithness stone was formed over 450 million years ago and is only available in the Highlands of Scotland Drainage channels were fitted and steps built Marshalls Tegula was used SWMBO decided that a roundabout would be a good idea to prevent any congestion

The driveway was next
along with the small driveway The original lead pipe was disconnected and I fitted a plastic pipe whilst the ground was opened From this to this and the other side The front steps were a special order direct from Caithness which took three weeks to arrive they have mitred and polished edges

We couldn't decide what we wanted to do with the area at the French doors so it was left until a year later and lots of different ideas thrown around in my head. I eventually went for wall the same as the garden and Caithness steps

That place is like a paving and Stone company's dream! Lots of changes of level etc. love the Caithness stone though, it's really beautiful and also tough. Looks awesome when it's wet too

He is a Japanese Akita, almost 13 years old now and we've had him since he was 8 weeks old.

He's absolutely gorgeous!
My mum and dad had Samoyeds when I was growing up and I thought he looked like one of those sled type breeds but I was wrong! |

Pun intended??
47p2, well done. Great read and excellent result. A massive improvement and no doubt a worthy 'man-cave' when the missus, well, um, makes you want to leave the house.

It's been just under 2 years since my monoblock was laid. The weather has been typically Scottish and rather wet to say the least and it has taken its toll on the appearance of the surface with lots of green vegetation and moss growing between the block. There are a few products you can buy to kill the moss, but they are not 100% effective and you still have to scrape out all the mess which with almost 400 Sqm would be a lot of work. So I decided that I would take the easy option and bought a Hard Surface Rotary Cleaner.
The only down side is you need a very powerful pressure washer to power the rotary and my Lavor which has 125 bar and 660 litres per hour is right on the edge which meant the rotary had to be re-jetted before it would operate. The advantages of a rotary compared to a lance on a pressure washer are that there is much less mess with the rotary, the height between the surface and the block is a set height so less likely to wash all the sand out from between the block and the finish is easier to control with less of the surface area being missed with the rotary. This was before The edges should be cleaned first with the lance. This is not yet sanded The finished product This was yesterdays job, the small driveway which is still a little damp this morning The other thing to bear in mind is that when you sand between the block you have to re-sand the area and get the sand to go in the spaces, I have a small compactor which I bought when building the garage and it is perfect for settling the sand in properly
