Thank you and I will take note! Without exception, everybody has given me words of warning about potential RR ownership. Even my local mechanic who loves and owns several Land Rover Defenders etc. said 'Don't buy one'.
I may buckle and keep the S8 and sell the Jetta if it doesn't get much interest. The thought of having over 8 litres of toys on the drive does sound like fun. |

In the circumstances, priorities change and sometimes important things dont always seem so important. Fantastic looking car and best of luck with the sale.

Thanks for the best wishes everyone
Mrs303 will be okay I'm pleased to say. We've just had a rubbish summer/autumn but 2016 should be so much better; with or without the S8. |

Best wishes from me too Phil.
Of course you realise that if you keep the S8 and sell the Passat then you will have between the S8 and the RR a very useful mix of vehicles but both will also be incredibly comfortable for Mrs 303 too

Have one, go and enjoy it.Yes it'll go wrong they're rubbish but so fantastically good at the same time. I've had a couple of the classics 1 of them a 2 door in brown, enjoyed every minuet of them. Still fancy a L322.
Ah and nice 8 too

Most people don't really know what an S8 is either. They just think big boring Audi. I could leave my old silver one almost anywhere and hardly anyone noticed until you pressed the loud pedal and then boy did they notice

That's also true but there is another factor we have to consider.
There is a member of staff where my wife works who for reasons unknown to us, has more than once put nails into her car tyres. Once she turned up in a brand new Polo courtesy car while hers was being serviced and he even wrote something on the windscreen. We couldn't tell what it said as it was in wood glue or something like that. Later that day he made a veiled comment about her new car to which she replied no, it belongs to the garage. He couldn't get away quick enough. She knows it's him as he's stupid enough to virtually boast about what he's done. It's like he wants her to know. She hasn't taken any action previously as she'd have to prove it, but after the cancer she's now got a zero-tolerance policy to fools and timewasters, so if it happens again he'll suffer. The point is, if she rocks up back at work after 8 months off in an S8 which will literally dwarf the Kia Picantos and Corsas which teachers seem to drive, he'll make a bee-line for it. He's got a chip on his shoulder about how much teachers earn (she's a deputy head, he's the caretaker) but he doesn't seem to comprehend that it's an old and cheap car. In his mind, she must be earning bjillions as it's a big car. Same applies if we got the RR; he'll won't be able to contain his resentment. I'm already looking into installing motion-activated in-car cameras. |

What strange behaviour. Does the premises have CCTV? Yeah, I'd get a dashcam with a large capcity memory card and just leave it on the back seat or somewhere pointing towards the window, or if there's an empty room or somewhere you can set up a camera to aim it to the car.
