Manual seats were available in the UK. They were standard on non-sport variants back in the day. You had to opt for electric adjustment, which many did.
All Recaro / sport / S8 / cars with memory have electric seats, and this does account for most of the D2's. 2.8 non sports are most likely to have nonelectric obviously, and as rightly pointed out, at launch the 2.8 didn't even have leather (or tiptronic). Climate control was (thankfully) standard in the UK throughout, as was a sunroof. I don't recall ever seeing any facelift D2's with manual seats.... But this is just UK. Across the channel they did enjoy all sorts of combinations of vegan spec upholsteries, with / without Quattro and manual gearboxes.

Wow.
Factory: no armrests, no Cd changer, no TV, No leather, no auto, no real point Went a bit crazy and got an autodim rear view mirror though I see....  #shouldhavejustboughtanA6  Albeit clearly broken, interesting to see an electric aerial on a Facelift..... Pretty sure All UK facelifts had aerials built into the rear screen...
