In the D2 I located it lower down to the left of the console in a clamped holder which hooks under the bottom edge of the console and over the edge at the top, which keeps it out of the way but also doesn't damage anything. On the D3's they are wired in to permanent 12v power but in the D2 it's just plugged into the cigarette lighter when I need it
