Sadly my age has reduced the offers that come with our packaged bank account which makes the remainder comparatively more expensive. But many decent offers it seems.

Thanks all

I think Virgin Money do an account with similar benefits but a higher age limit for the travel cover.

Not enough for Ray but I think they are +5 years on Nationwide

EDIT: here you go, they cover up to age 75 https://uk.virginmoney.com/current-a...unt/insurance/

They have a half decent easy access savings rate with that account too

To be honest at 82 I am finding car costs, especially insurance, becoming an obnoxious overload on finances. I'm considering, again, selling the super fast barge and making do with a much cheaper banger like when I was a lot younger.

Yes - it's getting harder to rent cars also. Our local car club does not have these difficulties, but only offers less desirable autos

Default Used Autoaid last week

It's cropped up in a few threads, but this is the most recently active.
I finally needed AutoAid last week when I had a bad puncture. They were fine except I was in an area with really poor phone reception so it took ages to get everything organised. Had to then wait about an hour but it was a Friday afternoon. The guy who turned up was very impressed by the S8 - "Rare as Rocking Horse S**t" and insisted on listening to me rev it!
(It was a lovely sunny day and we were at Cliveden about to head home after a National Trust freebie, though then ended up spending a LOT in the café while we waited!)

As an aside as these threads all generally talk about breakdown cover and car insurance together, I've switched my Volvo back to Privilege (joining the S8) from Aviva. Some years ago the quote from Privilege for the Volvo started escalating but oddly they are now among the most competitive. They've generally been fine for the Audi for ages though I have switched occasionally.

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions and extended leather. Ski hatch retrofit. Aftermarket reversing camera. DVB-T and XCarlink now removed as redundant.
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (Even rarer than a D2 S8!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
