Yep - pretty daft, but at least the S8 was up to the job

I think it shows the superiority of Quattro over rear wheel drive.

Apart from the usual 'Clarkson has to win' nonsense, thought it was pretty good

I laughed at the Jags 5.3 V12 only making 300 BHP, I dunno why Jaguar have such a good name. They have not made a good car in my lifetime.

XJ-S is a lovely motor in the convertible format. Last ones around 94-96 were peaches, and the 4.0 Straight Six was a stunning car. Forget the V12.

Hmmm, the XFR is a darn good car IMO.

Amar, you do come out with some corkers..... makes me laugh a bit, the wisdom of youth!
![]() I couldn't wait to get an XJ6 when I was a youngster - I eventually had about 4 or 5 over the years - what a wonderful engine that was! Yes, I was forever fixing other bits but I wasn't going to buy a Jap import! With the British car Industry going **** up at least Jaguar has survived but it's now built to an Accountant's spec so the luxury has gone. Putting a Jag body on a Mondeo floorpan (can't say chassis), good as it is, was a mistake. I'd still kill for an E-Type ![]() ![]()

I saw it too, it was fun to watch.
Now when someone says a S8 "pulls like a train" it will actually be true ![]() |
