This was a seriously good recommendation. I used the same guys before Christmas (DM tyres), after reading this thread, and the related winter tyre one.

I picked up two Michelin Alpin + two other quality winter tyres (all new/nearly new) for £40 each. They even swapped one over f.o.c. when it developed a sidewall bulge after a couple of months. I've done c. 10k miles over the winter, with no other issues. They also helped me knock down Kwik Fit on the price for 2 new 20 inch Michelin PS3 to £275 each (fitted) by quoting competitively on these, which my s8 is now shod with, along with its nice shiny refurbed FE wheels.
